Although over 200 islands are still uninhabited, the government limits the opening of new resorts to only a handful every year. Upon arrival all visitors receive a 30 day visit visa for free……. no prior visa is required to enter the Republic of Maldives. Entry permit will be granted to visitors on arrival at designated ports of entry, based on the immigration requirements.
