Zambia | Zambia is a land-locked country occupying an elevated plateau in south central Africa. It borders Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe. The country's shortest route to the sea is via Zimbabwe to Beira in Mozambique.

Livingstone
| View Map | | Named after the famous Victorian missionary explorer, Dr. David Livingstone, the Town was established in 1905. As the capital, it enjoyed excellent facilities far superior to anything in the country, as can be seen from the surviving Edwardian colonial buildings that line the city's main road, and even had the distinction of having the country's first newspaper. The proximity to the Zambezi River and the spectacular Victoria Falls has led it to become a base for travelers from all over the world wanting to explore this Seventh wonder of the World. Great Rift Valley. Between the walls of the escarpment, winds the
Luangwa River at the bottom. Over many years, the river has receded and
changed course, leaving lots scenic of ox-bows and lagoons, filled with
hippos and crocodiles. The rich volcanic soil supports a wide variety
of lush vegetation and a wealth of animals and birdlife. |  | South Luangwa National Park
| View Map | Given the high concentration of wildlife around the Luangwa River, the South Luangwa National Park has been dubbed as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The Park hosts a great diversity of wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, impala, puku, waterbucks, bushbucks and two species that are endemic to the park, the Thornicraft’s Giraffe and the Crawshay’s Zebra. This is the park where the ‘walking safari’ originated and is still the best way to enjoy this unspoiled wilderness.

Wonders of the World. The Victoria Falls plunges into a 300ft gorge and
spans approximately 1 mile in width along the Zambezi River. Victoria
Falls is also considered the adventure capital of Africa. The mighty
curtain of water that is Victoria Falls is known by the locals as
Mosi-oa-Tunya or “Smoke that Thunders”. |  |
